IAN LAURIE
Ian Laurie represents employees and employers in all aspects of employment law. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota and the Minnesota Supreme Court.
Mr. Laurie represents employees, providing legal advice to those who have experienced a variety of difficulties on the job. He has represented employees in claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, breach of contract, non-competes, unemployment hearings, whistleblowing, and other employment claims. He also represents clients before administrative boards and organizations. He is an active member of the National Employment Lawyer’s Association (“NELA”) and has served on the Minnesota Chapter’s board of directors.
He also represents some employers and small businesses, providing them with legal advice on employment issues in an effort to prevent or solve legal problems.
Mr. Laurie earned a Bachelor’s of Science from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University and graduated magna cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, where he was the editor on the Law Review. Prior to pursuing his law degree, Mr. Laurie worked in marketing and promotions for sports teams, including the Huntington (W. Va.) Cubs, Peoria Rivermen, St. Louis Cardinals, Kenosha Twins and others. He lives in Maple Grove, Minnesota with his wife, two sons and beagle, Dexter.
